VA S.F. Shenandoah River, Luray area
I'm trying to plan a hang for May and need some feed back. The trip will be a canoe trip along the Shenandoah river near Luray VA. Camp will be on National Forest (free) along the rivers banks (wilderness camping no toilets or water) I'm thinking one night????? Would anyone be interested in this? I'm trying to work something out now with an outfitter if you don't have a canoe and need to rent. If you post to this thread I will contact you when the official thread starts, probably beginning of April closer to time of trip. For now this is just to see how many may have interest. This is a map of the trip and the outfitter for rental if needed. http://www.shenandoahriver.com/River_map.html Thanks Edit: Also want to know if you guys will be fishing or not and how much river time per day you can handle? If you want to crank down the river or just drift? Post like this: Interested, fishing, 4-6 hours, drifter and anything else you want to say. Thanks

Im interested. Dont own a canoe yet but could always rent one. Guessing I would need to rent one for 2 days which would cost $90. Ouch...But cheaper than buying one. I do plan to buy one soon so may not even be a problem.
Ill be bringing a mini-van most likely so I can help shuttle people from the end of the river trip to their cars or vice versa.
Sounds interesting. I'm still checking on the location/map of the area......RR
I'm a member of PETA!!!!
I'm interested. I'll be paddling a kayak.
Well if you split two days rent over the two people you would need for a canoe it's less. Anyway hit me up in the official thread
Yeah the 2 people would be me and my wife..Same cost..lol...

Depending on the weekend count me in!
I am interested as well depending on the weekend. I will be in a yak and definitely plan on fishing. I am fine with booking down the river or drifting. If drifting I will fish on the way. If we book it to the campsite then I will fish around the site.
I have an old aluminum canoe. Only used it on lakes, not familiar with river canoeing but would love to join. I wouldn't mind fishing but don't care really. Let me know when you pick a date so I can alert the spouse.
