    Edge doors or Superfly?

    Hi folks

I currently have an Edge tarp to go with my blackbird. I'm looking for a bit more protection, and I'm torn between getting doors for the Edge, or getting a Superfly.
I know the Superfly is a bit longer, and a good bit wider. Is there anyone that have used an Edge with doors that can chime in on the amount of protection? I guess I can always hang closer to the ground if the weather is bad.

If you want the superfly, I'll take that edge off your hands and help get you a little closer to funding that new tarp.

Thanks for the offer, but I am really attached to the Edge. That's why I'm asking about the doors!
BTW, I think this makes 50 posts so now I can sell it (which I won't)

For the cost of doors get a Superfly. I think its good to have dedicated summer and colder weather tarps. If you want more coverage, its better to have more coverage on the sides as well closing off the ends.

It would be good to hear from an Edge owner that has doors.

I suggest keep the Edge and get a separate Superfly. You will really appreciate the coverage/protection, and it isn't much of a weight penalty compared to the Edge+doors.

I have an edge and have rigged up doors on a couple occasions (or more like covered the ends with tarps or what-not). It's worked well enough. I also have a superfly and that is my preference for winter or bad weather. The difference in coverage is noticeable and the side pull-outs on the superfly really make it feel larger if you're weathered in.

Just placed my order for the Superfly. I agree, it's better to have 2 tarps that cover a larger range of possibilities. And you can never have too many tarps!!

Keg makes a good point about the side pull outs. It really adds room. Also, when its cold/wet/windy its easier and faster to set up a Superfly then to have to fiddle with doors. I've done it but having integrated doors is just simpler I find. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Hey Sturgeon, if the offer still stands in May I might take you up on the offer! If there's something I have that you'd like to try out in return let me know.
