Attach whoopies directly to webbing?

I tried to search for this because I'm sure it's been asked and answered 300 times, but I couldn't find my answer. So here goes:

I hope the picture explains it pretty well.

All I do is loop the webbing around the tree, clip the carabiner, and adjust the whoopie.

My question lies with attaching the adjustable end of the whoopie directly to the tree strap and the fixed eye loop of the whoopie directly to the hammock. Any issues with that?

I think you will get alot of differing opnions here but for me I like to have some type of drip ring between the hammock and the tree strap preferably closer to the hammock. I also do not like the friction of the strap against rope. I know many here have done it successfully though. HYOH

It is very similar to the whoopie hook suspension that I use. The only problem you might have is the whoopie/strap connection gets pretty tight and can be hard to get loose.

Thanks for the input. The sling/strap friction is my biggest concern. Doing a test hang tomorrow... Will update.

I would be worried about chafing over the long term.

Chaffing of the whoopie running through the webbing?

If chafing is the issue, use vinyl tubing as a thimble on the whoopiesling eye. Or even use another piece of amsteel as a thimble, however, keeping the ends of the amsteel "thimble" may be a challenge though. Maybe you can whip the ends of the "thimble". Were I proficient at taking pics and posting I would send pics. Maybe my 12 year old son can help me. I'll work on pics.

I may be able to help. Not very professional looking, did it in a hurry, but it will work
You might could use thread or whatever you would like to use to whip ends of the thimble.
It is very light and It will certainly help reduce or stop chafing of your whoopieslings. From what I've been reading, it may help others, solely for safety's sake.
Just for illustration. You can modify it any way you like

I would replace the biner with a Dutch clip and put the biner between the whoopie and the strap and not have anything to worry about at all.

Got ahead of my self, Here's what I meant about whipping the thimble ends.
Gather the strands and bring them to the outside of the arc. Then whip them.
The eye will slide through thimble. I used floral wire to whip, all I have right now. And no I don't sew, I make gear with a thread injector too.
