    DIY 2 piece hiking poles

I made a take down hiking pole out of bamboo and pvc. Got the idea from backyard bowyer and his take down pvc bows. These hiking poles will also be used as spreader bars and the pole for my hammock seat, https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=68861 . I cut 6" pieces of 3/4" pvc and heated it up to stretch onto the pole to make the coupling. The hard part was getting it apart so after I used some vice grips and muscle I sanded the inside of the pvc just enough to where it was a snug fit.

Neat idea, to use for tarp porching. I think I'll use it but instead of bamboo I'll use graphite shafts from some golf clubs, cut to fit inside my motorcycle cases. May make two joins...

    Thanks for sharing.

They come in at 12 ounces each, but I will be adding some bike grips to them. On the bottom end I just have rubber caps

Very cool! What kind of bamboo is that? I've never seen it without any joints before. :-S

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
