Hammock Hiking with the Blackbird 1.7dl opinions.

I do a lot of hammock camping since after sleeping in a hammock I decided my big behind was staying in the trees instead of on the hard ground.
On my bigger trips I usually carry my Clark North American it packs down pretty well for the base unit of hammock and fly.
How well does the blackbird pack down with the stuff sack? Could you add a 3x3 m tarp to the hammock in the stuff sack?

The stuff sack originally shipped with my BB has a bit of extra room, but not much. I'm thinking not enough for a tarp.

Might want to consider keeping the tarp, which may be wet on any given day, in a separate mesh bag or snake-skins; instead of in the same stuff sack as your, hopefully always dry, hammock? Also nice when it is raining - cause easy to hang the tarp and then setup the hammock staying nice and dry while beneath the tarp.

I hear ya. I'll have to set my WB like my DD.Hammock and tarp as different units. I have both the XL Basha and the 3x3 camo tarp for my free hanging hammocks.Although, with the Clark with it's attached fly I have never had a serious problem with my rained on fly getting my hammock bed wet.I usually work hard to get it as dry as possible before packing up.Not always an easy task but it's a system that has worked for me for the past few years.

    Loki nails it.

No need for me to add anything but the observations above are accurate.
