    A Walk in the Woods

Took a bit of stroll today to give my new DIY pack its initial test and try out something new for trail lunch.

Pack looks great ... question ... seems like your pack straps are way to the outside of your shoulders. Looks like that would be uncomfortable.

Looks good... I like the clif bars... Enough flavors to not get old... Reasonably temperature stable... They do get hard as a rock below freezing, keep them in your jacket to get around that...

Looks like a fun walk, and glad the pack worked out for you...

The pack should be pretty good, the front pockets are handy. Poison Ivy doesn't sound like much fun, from what I know about it. Boiling water makes for ok video, now that I know it can be burnt, I want to see someone burn some water, that would be good video. The bar you eat was nice and healthy. A good day in the piney woods was head by you! Thanks for the video, Catavarie!

It was good to get out in the woods again, even if only for a little bit. I'm hoping to get out again soon to shoot a video on my short hammock. And don't be afraid of the bird food, after all when is the last time you seen a fat bird.

Without the sternum strap they seem to slide outward as I walk. Not terribly uncomfortable just slightly annoying really. I intend to add on a sternum strap when I have a chance.

I've been carrying cliff bars in the past, just looking for more options to keep things interesting and not get meal burn out.

Thanks for checking out my, Brucie. The pockets are down right cavernous compared to my other packs.

Nice job on the DIY --- I LIKE! Might hafta take this on as a future project . . .

Thanks for takin us along for the walk. I'm trying to find half a day off work this week to get out and do some filming - need to demo my newest cook kit based around the Imusa grease pot, w/ both alcohol & wood stoves stored inside.

Funny thing, just last night I was down in the shop making a mount for my phone (which does better video & audio than my camera) so I can mount it on a tripod or to the end of my walking stick. No, I don't use hiking poles - I like to make my own from small vine-twisted trees. Maybe someday I'll break into the 21st century. Maybe . . .
