HH Suspension Favorites
With my Hennessy on its was I thought I'd go ahead and start a thread asking what type of suspension everyone prefers to use on there Hennessy. Whether you like it stock, with whoopie slings, cinch buckles, etc. I'm just curious as I'm not sure how I want to run mine yet.
I switched to woopie sling on my HH
Run it stock for a while. Then you can figure out what you need to change and what works just like it is.
I run mine stock except I changed out the tree straps for an Atlas strap. I also tie mine with a figure eight on the bight hooked to a carabineer. It makes set up a bit quicker.
Went to carabiner and rappel rings pretty soon after I got mine. Still use the lashing on stock lines for the kids. I needed quicker setup since I use mine constantly.

No wound? No scar?
Yet, as the Master shall the servant be,
And piercèd are the feet that follow Me.
But thine are whole; can he have followed far
Who hast no wound or scar?
Excerpt from a poem by Amy Carmichael
Missionary to orphans in India.
She suffered much -- and bore much eternal fruit.
There are Crock Pots and there are Microwaves. The world does microwaves; God does crock pots.
I used the stock set up for a few months then switched to whoopies. I really found the whoopies much better and easier. It is a very individual thing with suspension systems.
I use woopies with dutchware. Love the easy adjustability and how fast setup is.
I put whoopies on my Expedition. However, I might go back and put continuous loops on them so I can use Dutch whoopie hooks. That way I don't have to pack wet whoopies up with the hammock.
I used the stock suspension for a few months, then switched over to 'biners and rings, and used that for a few months.
Then I went to whoopie slings, and my last 'mod' was to replace the toggles in the MSH with weight bearing 'biners, and I simply attach the whoopie sling to the 'biner directly. No risk of the loop coming up 'over the not and toggle' that way.
I've used that last suspension for over a year now, and will probably stay that way.
This is what I ended up doing. I had too much difficulty with Hennessey's stock suspension. I reallly like my whoopie sling (that I made) with my very strong biner.
