I believe alcohol can be used to remove tree sap from silnylon (search on HF). So, maybe the alcohol will help with the lamp oil? ...suggest you stay away from open flame if trying this

    - Loki,

"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.
Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy,
while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn."

The better quality the lamp oil the fewer the impurities. I would hang it for a week or two out of the sun with reasonable air circulation. Water will not help but I would worry about the water proofing later only because mineral spirits will cut un cured silicone. That can be tested and cured later.
    YMMV

Always spot test but I would use Dawn before i used nikwash. Don't put it in the washing machine, just a dawn rinse to break up the oil/wax. Let the sun do the rest.
