    Straps

I am thinking about using straps this season. I have used ansteel whoopies as well as dynaglide, last year I used the no-hardware setup from Griz and was pretty happy. I just want something simple, fewer parts. I'm thinking of the line locker setup, hammock with a ring and straps, it would be hard to misplace either. I'm sure it maybe a gram or two heavier but again 2 straps, 1 hammock. My question is before I order straps what length are the strap folks carring?

    Thanks

10 to 12 feet seems to be long enough to cover most areas. May I suggest getting Dutch cinch buckles. I find them better than rings as they do not need a half hitch back up and they are more compact.

Safest way, walk around the tree. Boring!! Fun way, clip in a Beener and whip it. Try not to break anyone's teeth,,, including yours!

Put a weight on the end and flip it around the tree. Watch out as the end is loaded. ;-)

I bought 30' of webbing and cut it in half, so 15/side. I have yet to need all of it, but I tie off with a henessey style lashing so the extra length is handy.
