Linville Gorge - on the edge

I took my daughter to Linville Gorge this past weekend, where we met up with fellow hammocker BonePile.

The 3 of us proceeded from Table Rock parking lot, out past the Chimneys, down the gap, then to Shortoff.

The weather was fantastic & the views were around every corner.

If you go on a trip here, I highly recommend the LinvilleGorge.net site... great maps, GPS waypoints & equally great advice (especially on pie).

I think you can tell we all had a great weekend.

Shout out to Running Feather for mentioning the Chimney's during the group hang... to NCPatrick for a prior inspirational trip report... and to BonePile for having some T.P. when my daughter lost our roll - doh

Excellent video. Your daughter is quite limber, but I want to see you do what she did. That would be entertaining!

Your sig line was my inspiration for getting the strawberry rhubarb. It was good eating. Though I draw the line at livermush.

Geez, I thought it ran in the family!

What kind of camera do you have? Excellent clarity and colors.

Great view at the start and then all the way though the video, there were mountain views galore! Extra great place to hang your hammock, on the edge of the hill and all. Thanks for the video, TallPaul, good stuff!

I carried 2 cameras on this one - I have a 2nd gen GoPro, which I like to throw in my pocket. Simple to grab & shoot. The zooms & some other footage was taken with my Panny HC-V700.. it has a good, steady zoom & great for outdoor colors. Not the best for low light though.

Thanks Bruciehi5. The hammock on the edge was somebody else - they found the only two trees that place had to offer

Great vid, looks like a wonderful time together! Your daughter reminds me a lot of my own - She's my "tomboy" - loves to get out camping, exploring, etc.

Cool music, too. That's a new one for me.
