DIY Color Change on Cuben Tarp

So on one of the more recent hangs I was on I was shown a DIY Camo Job on a Cuben Fiber Tarp. Hairbear did this with his Cuben Tarp and explained the process.

The process was cheap and has held up for a long time thus far as I understand it.

Here is the Pictures of it as I wanted to Share it before I forgot again.

    Hi hoot
Thanks for the post. So far im tickled with it,but while twisting it into snake skins there is a little dust on your hands. There isnt alot,in fact its light enough that I didnt notice it for a while. Just thought Id throw that in there.

Hairbear gutted permanent markers and used the ink to color the tarp.

Here's the thread where hairbear describes his method. Scroll to post #18 for his description.

That's a very interesting method and the outcome really does blend well - doesn't it?

It is interesting and for sure was a gutsy move. I don't think I would have the guts to do that to Cuben myself.

Will you and ramen be joining us in a few weeks? Hope things are well with you.
I plan to be at the OT Thru Hike. Not sure on Shamen though. It is still out to far for me to tell on if I can make that one. I will know by Mid Next week 100%.

The 19th through 21st Shamen, Kerflop and I have a Trip planned for an 18 mile Loop.

You could always contact the manufacturer Cubic Technology - customerservice@cubictechnology.com and custom order the material in black. Just be ready to order a lot and pay for it as well, but then you could make back some of your money by selling what you don't use. But IMHO it's just not worth the headache
