    Soft shackle size?

I'm looking for an average size when done. For ease of understanding I'm taking from the knot to the end of the loop. The ones I have made are about 7 inches. Should they be longer?

In my experience so far they can be almost any length you want as long as you have enough line to make a proper knot, enough line to retract to put the knot in the adjustable loop and a finished size big or small enough to suit your needs.

Here is a site you might want to check out--it has a calculator various thicknesses and sizes of shackles. http://l-36.com/index.php?menu=1
I've used it before to make some and they turned out well.
