    Add pad sleeve to ABES

Has anyone ever sewn another layer of ripstop to the bottom of one of these hammocks to make a double layer hammock? I have the ABES and would like add a pad sleeve to the bottom. Before I just jump into it I was hoping someone else had already done this and maybe had pics or something to share

Did you ever do that? I'm looking at the ABES (got another kid who reached hammock camping age) instead of the ENO. I like the pad suggestion and would want to add that too.

It would be easier to remove the lines from the end channels and whip two hammocks together. No sewing needed, and if it did not suit your taste, you could just revert back to the previous configuration. Just pick up a UL and whip it to your ABES. Then take the suspension line and larks head it over the whipping.

    Whipping instructions here.

I'm just talking out loud here, but what about adding a net thingie? If it's only needed to hold a pad wouldn't a net be lighter and tighter fitting thereby reducing pad shifting?

Nets have been tried before. Since they are not actually supporting the loads, the upper hammocks tends to "push" the pad away from the hammock body.
A net hammock will do "something", but it doesn't support the pad well enough against the hammock.

If the two hammocks are whipped together, the force of the occupant holds the pad stationary. It may slide (depending on the pad type) before you get in, but it will stay still once weighted.
