Given that whoopie slings and the like are ridiculously easy to make and places like DIY Gear Supply sell raw amsteel so cheap, why would people pay so much for premade amsteel products?
Some of us like the fiddle factor and make our own stuff. But not everyone has the time, confidence or desire to do it. Whoopie slings aren't hard to make but they do take a little time, plus liability insurance and other overhead costs.

I was more referring to how much whoopieslings.com charges. AHE sells premade slings as well but not as expensive. You're literally paying 10 dollars more for the convenience of not having to make them with whoopieslings.com.

I have these links for my home setup where I am not having to take down on a regular basis. I did use them at first with my travel set but they did take longer for setup and take down. I did like the price though.

One is a single, the other is a pair.

I've ordered from both of these vendors and their products and customer service are excellent.

On sale for 2 bucks off per biner and at 29 grams they only an oz a piece! plus they have the advantage of being fully climb rated so you could use them for rock climbing if you needed to.
Yeah these are the ones I have used for a little while now and work great. Not heavy at all.

another vote for the nano 23 'biners -- I picked up a 6-pack and they're very handy for a lot of things.
