We will be up there friday sometime around 5 and plan to finish Sunday. We are starting by the campground.
Looks like this is turning out to be another unofficial spring hang See you on the trail!
I thought it might be a little crowded, but never thought there would be this many that were planning on going...
See you in the woods!
Jeff
The girlfriend and I are planning on getting there friday along with the dog this weekend. happy trails!!
How does it work if all camping sites are taken are you able to have fires in areas that arent designated camp sites?
Here's a quote from the Huron-Manistee National Forest regarding fires:
Campfire Safety
Date(s): Apr 1, 2013 - Nov 21, 2013
Fire Safety
DO NOT leave fires unattended.
Use the provided fire ring at designated campsites and within developed campgrounds for campfires.
Build fires away from branches and clear flammable vegetation, such as leaves and grass, away from the fire area.
Have a supply of water on hand for extinquishing the fire.
Completly extinquish fires before leaving. Fires should be cold to the touch all the way through.

I think one of the main reasons for the fire rings is to help prevent the inevitable sprawl from people camping. I've seen fire rings and groups camping way to close to the river too. A fire is nice sometimes, but I'm just as happy with a candle lantern when I camp off trail. Also, make sure to follow the LNT guidelines.
Here's something else from the Forest Service regarding Camping in dispersed areas:
Camping within two hundred (200) feet of any body of water, except at designated sites.
Camping in an area which is posted closed and/or no camping.
Camping within 450 feet of developed recreation areas.
Which way are you headed on your first night? Enjoy your trip.
We are starting at seaton creek campground trail head I believe.
You have a hammock correct? You only need two trees, no actual campsite required. Just head away and set up.
I have a hammock but not everyone in my group does.
