    Q about Knotty Mod & GT/ENO Double

    Question:

If I'm doing a knotty mod on an ENO or GT double, I stitch the channel for the shock cord into the gray border material? Is that right?

Or should I try the actual hammock material?

I love my GT double but don't want to hose up the hammock material that takes so much stress/stretch and so I'm thinking it should be the border but am not sure.

Will be doing both head and foot ends.
    thanks

The border material being the rolled hem? That is where I would and have done it.

I have done this mod to my ENO DN using a strip of grosgrain sewn to the hammock material outside the line of stitching where the perimeter was seen at the factory. No stress on the material inside the stitch line that supports weight. I also have used a strip of ripstop nylon and feel it works a little better, however the grosgrain -1.5"- or so wide seems to grab the shock cord more along the length of material and put less stress on the end holes where I have the ends of shock cord secured. I liked doing it this way better than putting a hole in my actual hammock material.

I enjoy this mod a lot. Good luck

^^^ I've done that on several hammocks that I've made. I made the holes in the grosgrain with a soldering iron before sewing it on, then ran the shock cord through.
    Works great.
