Not many brave souls venture out in summertime in Florida. But we do get together several times during the other seasons. The big state hang of 100 or so people is on MLK weekend in January, in Ocala National Forest at Buck Lake.

Welcome from Winter Haven. I was hanging on one of the spoil islands in FT. Pierce two weekends ago and I'm willing sweat all night again if anyone else is up to it.

Welcome from Jax! Hope to meet you at one of the hangs. I might be up for a "no-underquilt" hang this summer....I hung on the banks of the spring fed Santa Fe river one August, and the coolness of the river kept me fairly comfortable...

Welcome to a new perspective, from NEFL!

I am one of the wimps who spend most of my time indoors from 1 July to 1 October, running from A/C unit to A/C unit...but a NO UQ hang could be fun, and you'll find no finer people than these!

Yes, Ricky likes to go there for target practice. That is, he likes to practice being the target!

Now you have to go meet him to get the rest of that campfire story!

I was hanging from Wed night 6-5-13 to Sun night 6-9-13 outside in my backyard. I couldn't miss the opportunity with the Tropical weather we had. Just love that rain that first night.
I didn't use a UQ the first 2 nights but did use my sleeping bag under me the next 3 to stop that shoulder chill in the morning. Temps were 72-74 and no wind the last couple nights. That made for warm sleeping on the bag with no wind. A small sheet would be just the thing to fix that for under my shoulders and a comfort thing to cover me on top.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
