Moderators rock!! I've never seen anyone being treated rudely on here, and that is something you almost NEVER see in an online forum. Most forums are people bashing one another...why???
I once posted some pictures on here, not knowing that they didn't go to the right spot. One of the mods took it upon himself to put them in the right place for me, and message me that he did so. THAT wouldn't happen anywhere else, I'm sure.
Thanks mods, for making hammock forums what it is.

As someone new here I have to say I agree. Rudeness and obscenity seem to be the norm anymore.

This is a great forum filled with helpful, pleasant and polite people. Very refreshing.

This is one of the few places where I don't think that John Gabriel's theory of the internet (no, I can't reproduce it here exactly due to impolite language, but it goes something to the effect of, "normal person + anonymity + audience = idiot") doesn't apply.

And a large portion of the reason for that is the mods being on top of things (in other words, "removing anonymity"). The other reason is that folks here just seem relaxed.

    Thank you.

    Re: Thanks HF Moderators

There are a lot of leaders here, yes the mods work hard, but the culture here is what keeps it civil and friendly. We occasionally step in to cleanup any mess, but normally by then others have stepped in to adjust some attitudes, or at least report them to us. The mods all have full time jobs and appreciate the help as we cannot read every thread.

All we ask is that every member act as a guest in a friend's home.. those that trash their friend's houses don't get invited back. . .

Please help us by using the "report post" button.

Thanks for the kudos, and be nice or we'll unchain Cannibal....

    Thanks HF Moderators

HF is one of the friendliest places. Yes a lot has to do with the MODs, the rest is its membership. You can be new and ask a question that has been asked a billion times( heck I have) and instead of the use the search function you get an answer. I have stopped looking at two other forums. A Jeep and fly fishing one. Too many bullies if you didn't have the newest and greatest. HF is like sitting around a campfire. You're always made to feel welcome and wanted. Thanks to everyone who does their part to make this a great place to be.

    Thanks HF Moderators

I agree this is probably the most polite and helpful forum I frequent. I belong to many knife and firearm forums that I can't use anymore due to the flaming, bullying and political grenades. To me, the best part of this forum is how I am treated as a NOOB. Admittedly I knew jack squat about hammocks, hammock camping and even light backpacking two months ago.
EVERYONE in HF has been so patient and helpful it really aided in me really exploring the "whole hang"
The ONLY problem is that now I'm broke SO thanks a lot HF and the great MODS

I probably frequent, well maybe not "frequent", those other sites too. I can say with 100% certainty that HF won't cost you as much as the toys on those sites.
