I can lay on a slight diagonal in my Speer Peapod, but it doesn't let me lay in the normal diagonal I usually get into. It sure is warm though.

I have never had any issues with a diagonal lie with my Speer PeaPod when used on my Claytor No Net or Speer 8.5. In whatever back sleeping position I would normally do with these hammocks, or on my side with legs straight or fetal, no real difference.

But there is a really comfy fetal position I sometimes get in in some hammocks, especially with my HH Explorer UL, which results in a pretty extreme diagonal. In fact I am very nearly 90* to the axis of the hammock. This is hard to do with the pod, it tends to pop the Velcro open or compress the down to much. To be fair, this does not always work so well with all UQs either, my knees or some part will tend to be past the sides of the UQ, though the HHSS works OK for this position, barely.

But for most of my usual sleeping positions, at least with those 2 hammocks, no problem at all.

I've been amazed also. I discovered this in my HH Safari, but discovered I could do this pretty good in my Explorer UL and Speer also, maybe some others also. It is one of the most comfy positions, because it forms a ridge that is under my side supporting it, the opposite of the wrong direction side torque that is often a problem for side sleeping with some hammocks. And it's not 90*, but getting close, way more diagonal than I normally use. and of course with maximum fetal position.

Give it a try. Turn on my right side with my head into the left side of the hammock, feet or knees into right side. Or, turn on my left side with head into right side of hammock, feet into left side, knees drawn way up. In the right hammock, uber comfy. Sometimes tricky for insulation, works OK wit my Yeti but might need a small piece of pad to place in a cold spot, works oK in HHSS, PeaPod not so much.

Trail Medic, have you tried this in cold weather? I can see the underside being nice and warm, but there seems to be a ton of air space above you that your body would need to heat.
