going to check out the light house tomorrow. you can actually see it in the photo in the distance.
bamboo stands holding out great although the ridge polls had to be replaced with metal ones because the bamboo ones weren't finished yet

I was just out there a few weeks ago. It is a nice beach. The whole area is nice.
The campground is looking a little empty?

Hammock stands worked awesome...Last day on the beach the wind was so fierce that I couldnt get the hammock stand set up...Wind kept blowing the whole thing over..Hammocked acted like a perfect sail. Gonna have to design a special rig just for Nags Head and Cape Hatteras to handle the high winds...Think few guylines for the Bamboo Tripods with extra long stakes should do the trick. I discovered a 2nd campground around the corner that is more hammock friendly...Here is few picks of the other campground..Its in the Frisco area.

Beach Hang location...Had a blast...Campground was just to the west...

Super jealous of you right now XTrekker, I didn't live far from the outer banks, that is by far one of my most favorite places in the world to go. Even better you are able to hang there! I've been wondering about bamboo ridge poles. Do they work well or do they flex too much? I plan on making some out of bamboo in the future as we have a ton of it here. Hope you had a good day on the beach!
