    Baby Orca using Climashield insulation

I made a Baby Orca underquilt using Climashield for Mr Ploppy in Tasmania, where it is now winter. It turned out better than I expected! It weighs 14+ ounces, and packs a wee bit smaller than a Baby Orca made with PPEF.

You can see it in this video.

Looks like a nice spot Mac.

Can't wait to get it over here and put it to use. Now that you have tried it out what temperature do you estimate it will be good for?

Fun video, nice snake! Did u say how the CS UQ worked? Did U get those lows in the 40s?
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us....that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.

There was lots of wind, and we did not use tarps. I had no drafts into the UQ. It was a good fit without using the end channels. It will certainly take you well below freezing. My back had a hot spot with the temp about 50, so it should be good to 20*F.

    That's pretty impressive!

One layer of ClimaShield 11.7 HL, 11.7 oz, 2-3 1/2" loft, which I split in half to make it half as thick.

That's what I will use now. One layer of ClimaShield Apex, 6.0 oz, 1-2" loft.

Yes! Look for it as an option on the Baby Orca page of the online store.

$25 ...replace PPEF insulation with ClimaShield 6.0 oz Apex 1-2" loft,
breathable and good for temps well below freezing
Total weight of UQ about 14 oz, packable to one liter
