    Amsteel squeaking!!

After 6-8 months my whoopie sling suspension have started to squeak. I tried changing to point of contact between the line and the wall mounts and that didnt help. Today I swapped out my whoopies for rope(sorry about the four letter word) and the squeak is gone, so its not anything other than the amsteal.

Any idea what is causing the squeak? The amsteel appears fine, with no wear spots or frays.

It would be interesting to look at it with a magnifier. As I recall there is a coating on the fibers that lubricates among other things. I bet it is wearing off.,,

    Amsteel squeaking!!

Ok, I was wrong! 3 am,, squeak squeak squeak. I swapped out the beeners and that really did fix the squeak. Must be some micro wear on them because they look untouched. First bad night in a hammock in close to a year.
