    oooooo hennesy...

i loved my hennesy. it treated me well for awhile. i lived out of it on many trails, on many summits, in forest across lands near and far. it was a sad day when i nearly lost my life in that dear thing. while out on a typical walk for a few days. somewhere on the PCT in norcal i had a decent tree limb fall on it. lucky i was good but my poor hennesy died that day. i tried to get hennesy to help me out with it some how and didnt get much help. i dont think they realized that im not a weekend hiker. im not a rich guy who spends his pay checks on ultra fancy gear. im a woodsman who lived in that hammock. since then ive had to resort to a paracord weaved style one that doesnt do it for me. one day i might try again with hennesy but i doubt it. couldnt even trade mine in for a new one at a discount. it was great hanging out with you hennesy but im sorry i cant do it any more. until then maybe something new will come along.

Are you saying it's Hennessy's fault a tree limb fell on it?

So you're droping Hennessy because they didn't give you a new one free or at a discount after you got many miles out of it and a tree limb destroyed it?
    I have no words.

If they are reading you right, I'd have to say I agree with them! I'd actually think that since you got so much use and comfy sleep out of it over a long period, as you say you are "a woodsman who lived in that hammock", I'd think you would be planning on getting another HH when you could.

I mean, a hammock is just a piece of fabric, like jeans or a shirt. I expect them to wear out at some point, hopefully not until heavy use like you describe. But I wouldn't expect a free pair of jeans from Levi if I finally wore mine out or ripped them on something while at work. If I like those jeans, and I managed to tear them up with hard use or accident, I think I'd be saving up for another pair just like them.

I can understand that your funds might be limited and you just can't afford any new hammock right now, or at least not an HH. So for that reason alone I'd probably be getting one of the much cheaper- but still nice- brands. But after so much good service, I'd still be wanting another HH.

If you decide you do want one, the October sale is in 3 months! Of course, that is a long time for a person who lives out of a hammock, so I guess there is always GT, etc. Much less expensive.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us....that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.

Hang your hammock and take your chances.

I you had a problem that was part Hennessey's fault sure they should/could have helped you out. but an act of nature, nope.

I had the line to my hennessy fray and become unusable the third time I used it. Tom Hennessy was only interested in where I purchased it. I was will to pay his company to replace the line, but he could not even give me a price estimate. Just muttered about the cost of shipping. I have not purchase anything else from Hennessy, I either buy it here on Hammock Forums or locally from another Hanger.

Just imagine how Judge Judy would handle this?

Any other comment would be like shooting fish in a barrel.
