    Lame but I'm Hanging

Warm day and our plans changed a dozen times. After the third failed outing to try my HH Exped, I hung it in the yard. No frills harness, although I thought it was supposed to have come with whoopies (need to check the sellers ad again), I got it up pretty easily.

Doubled over a poncho liner and have a thermarest pad. Using a midweight sleeping bag as a top quilt. Overnight temp should only hit 55* so I am warm now and will probably be too warm all night.

Laying diagonal, getting in was easy, feels really nice. The neighbors are loud and ther is music blasting in the distance, buti feel sleep coming on!!

Don't feel bad. I sleep in my hammock in the yard all the time! Usually until my neighbor starts cutting his grass at 7 in the morning. I think he does it on purpose.....he must be a tenter

    Re: Lame but I'm Hanging

Sounds like a pretty good first hang, other than the noise of course, I wish I could hang in my garden would make testing gear that much easier.

55º is a great temp, similar to our current night temps, thursday I had a one nighter and used my uq and a reversed zip jumper as a tq, was toasty all night

50-55* is perfect sleeping weather. I'm envious. It's just too hot here right now to sleep out at night, otherwise I would be sleeping in my woods.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

No mishaps with knots, tears, flips, falls, bugs or creatures. I slept a solid 8-9 hours. No back or neck pain. This could get a lot more use!

I need to add the included snakeskins, maybe do some harness upgrades and ditch the sleeping...I mean sliding pad, and really get into this. My make shift UQ stayed in place and was perfect. My summer sleeping bag TQ was more than I needed until about the middle of the night. I slept crazy comfortable.

Yeah, sleeping pads are for the birds. A good UQ is worth it. I've been comfortable with the PLUQ down into the mid 40s. However, if the weather calls for lows below 45 I take my 20 degree JRB Greylock....LOVE that thing.

Without the sleeping pad was better. Even nearly deflated the thing just felt wrong. Doubled over camo poncho liner improvised into UQ was all I used under. Summer sleeping bag over was fine. Cooler for sure, just about right.

Have a roll of reflextex, would inserting a layer between the layers of the folded over poncho liner give me more temp range? For me bulk and weight are not my concerns. Getting my abused body off the ground is the intent.

Will be improving my harness when my Dutch gear arrives.

    Night number three tonight? Perhaps.
