    Using 5mm climbing rope for a suspension

    I use 7mm pmi accessory cord from rei and have never had a problem with it.

    I use 6mm static rope on my rap ring suspension setup.....fixing the rope wear issues I had before.
    Been in use for over a year now, with no outer casing wear whatsoever. Still looks brand spanking new.
    Mountain views are good for the soul....& getting to them is good for my waistline.

    I dont believe I quite understand your comment, I decide how much distance is between a truckers hitch and it could be 1' or 15'...please clarify.

    Used the 5mm rope last weekend for an one night trip and it did not stretch so It seems to work good so far.
