Wow .... those falls and that area has me intrigued! Who has the hex tarp? Do you like it? I am thinking about making one......
Looks like a fun, fun time. Cool to see all the pack sizes .... some small and some huge. Like the stools. Extreme comfort. AngrySparrow seems to get the smallest, lightest pack award.

Rarely am I at a loss for words, but trying to describe Sipsey is beyond my skills. I've never seen such a high density of beautiful scenes in such a compact area. It was a real delight. And dittos for all the positive remarks of AngrySparrow, SouthMark, Mr. Prez, IHNBH, and Grillmaster II. We were a diverse group, whippersnappers to geezers, but a good time was had by all. And special thanks to IHNBH for sharing his immense local knowledge. He's an outdoorsman of the finest sort. And he's kind to old people. DTE

The pictures all confirm your description, Doug. They are magnificent!

One day soon, I will visit Sipsey!

Can't really add anything meaningful to what everyone else has allready said, but I had a awesome time. I really enjoyed meeting the new-comers. I sure hate to see the hiking season coming to a end down here but soon it will be to hot to walk. We will definately crank things back up this fall. Much, Much more to see!!!

Hey Thomas, Where is the Hillbilly Pic?

Hey Skippy, thanks for making a new-comer welcome. I had a blast.

Mrprez took the Hillbilly Pic. I'm sure it will show up.

I didn't take any pictures of my Hillbilly cousin that we ran across back in the woods. I see him all the time! Some people say we look like twins. I only wish that I was that handsome. But Mr.Prez did happen to catch rare picture, you will have to wait and see what he has to post! I'm glad to hear you made it home Doug and had a Great time in the land of Bankhead! I hope to see you on the next hang! Tell your son Happy Birthday for me! I'm glad to know and meet all you guys! I learn a lot each time we camp! Thomas

Southmark, I just looked at your pictures again and you got some really good pictures. Doug's hammock tarp looks like it could be getting wet from the waterfall. The picture with Steve and I on the left-side of the fall gives the real size of the fall. Thanks for the Great weekend! Thomas

Shug, I got a Hennessy hex tarp and I stayed dry all weekend. It seems to work well! But check out DougTheElder's hex tarp. He's added the doors and he did areal nice job! Not only does it knock out the wind but makes a real nice private space! IHNBH
