Many thanks. After talking with TallPaul at the Grayson Highland Hang, We fidgeted and fudged with it there and the second night there was more comfortable than the first.
This weekend I set up basically in the dark and got it right first try. I got my BB to sleep like I thought it would be when I bought it this weekend.
here is photographic proof
it was a great night in the woods

Nice, the taste of sweet success.
I usually have some foam pad for my feet, and that helps with any calf ridge immensely

just wanted to give an update. I have not been super successful with my hanging of the Blackbird. I hung it this weekend and I did it right on the first try. (only one night so I had too) I had a small calf ridge but I was able to twist more and get rid of it. I was also able to sleep on my side which I have never been able to do. I slept wonderfully even with a low of 59ºF with no underquilt, just a sleeping bag and fleece top quilt.

trees were pretty close together i was struggling to get the superfly to fit in between and my foot was 8"-12" higher than the head.

dutch is selling a level made for hammocks called a hangle
http://dutchwaregear.com/hangle-hammock-level.html
it might not be a bad idea to get 1 or 2, and when you get your bb dialed in make note of the angle on the levels so you can repeat it on the next set of trees
thanks i just have to remember to hang the feet higher look at it and say no a couple more inches up haha

Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy,

Glad to hear you and the BB are getting along. I tried sleeping outside last week but gave up about 1 AM as it was too hot and humid once the wind died.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Interesting, this post is almost two years old, it was started back in 07-29-2013, I think it is great when members go back and dig out prior posts and make current comments.
