I am thinking about making a new pad out of this stuff. Kinda wondering how it would be covered in a fleece or wool blanket.

oooooo, I bet it would be nice with a fleece covering. I love fleece. I bet you could sew up a slip cover for it, so that you could wash it between outings. I just bought a car sunshade for $5 at Big Lots and was thinking how it might be noisy in the hammock, but this answers that. I think I might go and sew up something today for it. My only question would be if it would effect the properties of heat reflection at all.
Get one of the "body pillow" pillowcases.
I have slept one night with my home made reflectix pad, plenty comfy down to 50.
I just got my hennessey super shelter system. That foam pad is awesome, set up was easy and the undercover is great.
This hanging thi g is fun so far.
I used the HH Double Bubble before I bought my SS. It worked well and kept me warm but I hated the clammy feeling on my back.

Trying to stay on a pad is a pain but I had pretty good luck using two smaller pads. I chopped down some closed cell foam down to a pair of 20"x30" pieces. One goes long ways from my upper thighs to the small of my back. The other goes crossways around the back of my shoulders and wraps up the sides of the hammock a bit. Your bottom and shoulders are the spots that tend to get cold (most pressure against the hammock fabric).
You can probably do the same kind of thing with the windshield reflector and fleece. Sew yourself up a SPE style cover and give it a try.
YMMV
