    CO>CT seg1>August31-Sept1>Hang/bike/fish/Waterton Canyon

Any interest in biking Waterton Canyon (6 miles), fishing the South Platte River along the way and hanging in the area of Lenny Rest over nite?

Any bike will do. This is not single track. If you need a bike I have 2 I can loan.
No special bike gear required you can carry everything in your pack.

Fishing with both fly rod and spin cast works fine.

This is not a wilderness trek. There are several picnic tables and bathrooms along the way.

I usually cook 1 or 2 fish and release all the rest.

From the dam we will leave the river, hike a bike on single track (1/2 mile) up to Lennys Rest to camp.

If your not into fishing but would still like to ride up a beautiful canyon and hang at the end of the day
there are additional things to see. We have a large herd (~35) of Big Horn Sheep that live in the canyon.
They come down to the water several times a day.

The 31st is opening day of deer season. If it weren't for that, I'd be in. Sounds like a blast!

Hi g2, Thanks for letting me know.
Good chance there will be fewer peeps fishing with hunting season starting.

It's been raining almost every evening for last two weeks. I'm betting the water is murky right now. I hope in a couple weeks it will clear and the fish should be hungry.

Looks like there is no interest in a bike /fish /hang on Labor day weekend.
So I'm going to cancel this trip and just head up Tuesday morning(20th) and see if the fish are biting.

I wish I could have made this but I'm hiking somewhere else that day.
