Not sure where in tishomingo we're considering but I was at the campground last year and the lake was GONE. Just weeds.

Only conflict I'll have will be the first weekend in November for sure. Committed to the group hand in LA that weekend. With MS winters being so mild of late December or even January would be interesting for me. I know little or nothing about either of those locations but I'm game all the way.

In my opinion, the Sipsey Wilderness is far more impressive than Tishomingo State Park, but it would require a lot more hiking rather than driving up and camping right by a parking lot.

    North MISSISSIPPI/ALABAMA HANG??

I agree more. I love sipsey but I am afraid it would not be as easy as Tishomingo. As from what I can gather from researching "hangs", car camping is definitely the way to go. I was leaning more towards Tishomingo from the beginning. Just need someone to chime in that is familiar with the area. Other areas would be fine as well. I am researching and reaching out to friend I know in the area. Will work on it and try to firm things up as soon as possible!

If you would like, I can put you in touch with Sipsey a hiker who used to work in the SipseyWilderness. If interested pm me for his number. He could be a great resourceful you.

One other option is the Elvis Pressley lake outside Tupelo, Ive done a couple hangs there, It has a great bank loaded with old stand pine right off the lake. Parking pretty spacious too.

Hey I'd be up for a fall hang. I'm in Huntsville and the Sipsey is not too far. Not really familiar with Tishaminga or however you spell it. Personally, I prefer the idea of hiking in a bit, but I would go with whatever the group collective thinks is best.

Tombigbee State Park has a beautiful lake (oldest state park lake in MS), good fishing, peace and quiet, nice bath house and lots of trees. It is just south of Tupelo. I have hung and fished from my kayak there and really enjoyed myself. Worth looking at for a group hang. It isn't huge which is what I liked about it, we could probably have the place to ourselves if we picked the right weekend when it gets cooler. I would be coming from Oxford and that takes about an hour and fifteen.

I think I may give Tishomingo a try next Saturday night just to check it out.
