So, I couldn't make it to the hang, but I managed to take a day hike in the Deam recently. I made the side trip and bush wacked back to the firepit for a late lunch/dinner. My wife and two friends liked the spot but found some recently discarded trash laying about. We picked up some of it and packed it out. Hoping it was not from the group hang. :-(

A big thanks to Lost Biker I got the DIY bug and last night I finally finished my PLUQ and I had a down. Pillow that was ripped open and made me a hammock pillow tonight, here are a couple pics.
Don't think it was us . I was the last guy out and I either burnt or buried all trash I could find . I might have missed something I guess . Oh there was some aluminum foil in the pit that was still hot that I left I guess .Originally Posted by CanoeJoe
Riverjoe, what I picked up was near the pit. Glass bottles, half dozen beer cans, aluminum foil, along with some other bits. Just one of those things anyone who enjoys the outdoors sees like that and gets under your skin. Not accusing anyone from the hang by any means. Just hate to see things like that ya know.

Sounds like somebody else spent the night there after are hang and didn't do a very good job cleaning up after their selves,
When Trail Medic and I were on Browning Hill this past summer, right off the main trail that heads to the pond, someone had pooped and wiped with about a whole roll of T paper and left it right out there all over our beloved National Forest. I was pretty mad, but looking back, I wish I would have taken the time to at least burn the toilet paper.
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.
That was definitely somebody else then . It would have been impossible for me to miss that . Unfortunately sombody must have followed the unmarked trail . Guess we need a " hole in the wall " canyon with some brush over the hole .

Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.
I've not hammock camped yet, just trying to get my bearings and plan a system. I have a basic hammock, winter camping gear, and I'm trying to adapt existing gear until I have enough time to research and build my own hammock, tarp and cold weather gear. I'd like to see what others use and get some practical advice. I'm in the Indy area.
