I think it's a good idea to have a cinch buckle belt for backup. I had to borrow that belt I used in the emergency and it was a wide one. But one made from 1" webbing would work for me.
Yes, those V-Ring buckles are pretty typical and popular. But again, I find myself always adjusting them for tightness.
And besides, I think my D-Rings look cool. And you can hang stuff from them. Like, well, you know? Stuff.
