When I make whoopie slings I use a piece of hose or tube. This one has a piece of old camelbak tube.
Beads crack.

This works fine. I've also seen guys use a small rubber oring. Good idea

Also used is a small split key chain ring. Easy on/off and has other uses on the kit.

Zippy tie works great as well.

Yep or if you have kids that are into beads (crafts n stuff) you can use a plastic bead there too.

It's always best if your an early riser!
I bury a ~2" piece of whatever line the whoopie is made from into the loop.
FWIW...I've always looped the whoopie sling over the knot and toggle from the opposite side shown in your photo.
I think he is using the opposite side of the knot, but i've have been doing it the same way as pictured in your photo. In the past i have had the other side of the knot pinch on the whoopie and i was worried about it making the whoopie fail.
On another note I have some pretty old whoopies that should be replaced but the bead are still intact and have no signs of cracking. but that is still a great alternative.

Good thought on the zip tie and split ring. I didn't have any beads around when I made my whoopies but I could add a zip tie or split ring now, thanks.
