    Zing it ridgeline question

I plan on changing the suspension and ridgline on my wbbb to save some weight. I'm going to put whoopies and a 1.75 zing it ridgeline on it. I was wondering how much longer I should make the ridgeline to figure on some stretching? Right now the ridgeline is 100"

Why figure on some stretching? If your using zing-it, the stretching will be in single digit millimeters at most if not at all.

Make the length of zing-it exactly the same as what is on there now if you are very comfortable in the stock RL. If you want, you can make an adjustable RL.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

When I asked Brandon from warbonnet about switching to a zing it ridgeline he said as long as your a lighter person the only other thing he saw a problem with was stretching.

I have never had a problem with zing-it stretching, but I did worry about its strength for using as a RL for my new diy. Following this thread to see if someone mentions the breaking strength

Remember, a RL is not a large load bearing line. When your in the hammock, you should be able to grab it with your thumb and 1st 2 fingers and turn it ~90*. Braided mason line is almost strong enough for this and zing-it/lash-it has absolutely no problem in this application.

My BB came with a Lash-it RL and I replaced it with a detachable amsteel RL. Although the strength is not needed, I like having the strength available for times when I may have to set up my hammock with the suspension less than 30 degrees. Those times, the tension ends up quite tight so its nice to have the added piece of mind. The weight difference between amsteel and Zing-it for the RL is not enough for me to worry about.

I am trying to make my new rig UL, so to me the weight difference is worth it

That's the reason why some use a SRL, structural ridge line, for their hammocks. That way you have the same amsteel or whatever cord for their suspension, then use hardware or software to attach the ends of the hammocks to the SRL. Nice and strong.
