You can use the one I used last year. It is Roan High Knob tested. I was just a few feet from the top. I could hear the wind but never felt it.

Warm camp shoes are being added to my pack this year

Mountman 'I am also a certified EMT as well as certified in Wilderness First Aid'=we need you on board.
    So many showing interest...like wow.
Southmark returns to the Roan, very nice-bringing a pulk again?
Talked to Wisenber not too long ago, he says to Overmountain this time or bust.
Ftroop, you might need to put some weight back on for this one, just saying.

And as a reminder. Every year we wish for Overmountain but historically always something goes goof....and I hate to see folks drive so far (HNO has like 6 hours invested to get there as example) only for a one nighter. But as Roche strongly aluded, it is always a night to remember.

Doing a little Monday morning QB, we should have done Overmountain on Friday and Roan on Saturday; we can bring propose this to the board at the pre-hike banquet at Bob's Dairyland.

I am very interested. I hope to have the correct winter clothing ready by the time this comes up. I used to teach Wilderness First Aid, but I'm not certified anymore, just certifiable.

I'll be in my workshop working on an anorak and some insulated pants.

That makes for a much longer drive out on Sunday. Taking the Overmountain Victory Trail to the Overmountain Shelter makes for much simpler vehicle logistics, but it would be a nasty as well as icy climb.

Interested nothing! Consider me in! Wisenber, should I plan on packing extra hot chocolate and heat packs?

I'll not bother checking the weather forecast again for this one. "Low around 20" indeed! Look for a heavier pack again on me this time.

That being said, your hot chocolate and heat packs saved my behind last time.

Glad I was able to help. It did sadden me a smidge that my coffee/cocoa bottle took its maiden voyage without me!

No, he meant exactly that. With wind chill, this can be cold enough to drastically effect PSA readings, leading to unnecessary treatments. Happens whenever the prostate freezes! ( the more serious version of CBS!)

My order was placed this morning.
I don't think Roan ever gets colder than what my Neos Navigators will handle. I just wear trail runners inside them during a hike and use my Wiggy's pakboot liners for around camp. Another cool feature is that they increase the size of your footprint enough to function as a snowshoe to some extent.
