Which tarp with doors under $100

I'm currently in the market for a budget tarp with doors for winter use. I'm looking at a few different ones but first, I need to add that the tarp has to fit a 10' 6" hammock.

Weight isn't an issue this year because what little winter camping I will do will be out of a car, or close enough to a building so I can abandon the attempt should I have to.

I'm looking at a kelty noah 12, which I've been told can be pitched with doors.

I've also started looking into a HH typhoon or monsoon hoping come october sale the prices will make them more appealing. But I have no idea if they're long enough.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'd say get a tadpole, used if you can, and a door kit for it.

Just my $.02, decide on the tarp you want and save up for it. It doesn't make sense to drop the money for something like a kelty if you're already looking at buying something like a superfly in the next year. You said weight isn't a concern for this year, which makes it sound like it will be a concern soon.

Watch the FS section or wait for sales from the vendors, you know they will have a sale at some point. Until then, go get a CHEAP blue poly tarp and use that. Weight isn't a concern, the price is right, and it will keep you just as dry as the kelty.

Weight isnt a concern this year because frankly I'm not sure if I'm going to even like colder weather camping. As a post radiation thyroid patient, I'm really cold.. All the time. I want to go as cheap as I can this year to give it a try.

I own a number of other tarps, Sil Nylon hex tarps, as well as 70d hex, etc but nothing considered "4 season" I'm more than willing to drop some money now, and if I can do it physically, either invest in or (more likely) make my own superfly next year.

Other than not knowing if I'll like the cold weather bit, my main concern is finding a budget tarp with doors capable of fitting a 10' 6" hammock .

I know a Noah 12 should fit but I'm not sure on the distance between the tie outs that allow the use of doors.

The 2 HH models Both list 120" long, so they'd be to short.

Besides, anything I pick up will be moved to car camping or backyard duty once it's replaced

So thank you for all the suggestions of just going for the superfly, but it's just not going to happen until I figure out if I can handle winter camping.

    Here's a very similar thread.

    Chinook 14 x 12 all the way.

    Inexpensive, huge, and moderate weight/bulk.

Is this ridge line length, or hammock body length? If not your ridge line, than even a 10ft long tarp should cover it, especially with doors.

I would just use a cheap blue tarp from the harwarew store to see if you like it. If not, hey, at least you've got a spare tarp for around the house...

True, but I just want something that I slap up, and boom! doors.

No fitting, tweaking, cutting, swearing.... etc.
