    Future Hanger

Hi, All. Been lurking on these pages for a while now. I guess it's time for me to come out of the tent.

Spent the last nine years camping most every weekend with the Scouts. I usually get in a 5-7 day backpacker in once or twice a year, too. I'm tired of sleeping on the ground. I've carried a Beyer(?) in my pack off and on but mostly used it for naps.

I'm going to DIY a hammock, suspension, tarp as soon as SWMBO gives me some thread injector lessons.

Oh, I'm in the Portland, OR area.

Welcome to HF! I can relate to being tired of sleeping on the ground. In my case, as with many here it seems, it came down to not being able to sleep well at all..... Now?
Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.

    Welcome to the forums, Darren!
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."
