You are so lucky that your daughter loves to backpack...and smiles whilst doing it. Mine never took to it.
Had a stopover in that Overmountain Shelter back in 1993 but did not want to sleep in it. all shelters seem gloomy to me)))) But we stopped to try and dry out.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but...

To Shug and some of the others that video record, what is your camera of choice?

Hey TallPaul, great vid as always!

In my family of five, the only one who's interesting in camping/hiking/etc. is my daughter, about the same age as yours. How cool is it to hear your daughter say, "Daddy, can we go camping tonight?!?" That's why your videos, especially this one, really hit home with me. Those moments and memories are something you can't put a price tag on!

I am blessed - she even asks when are we going again
Love your old-timey pic from Overmountain. You must have used some photoshopping to make it look that way

I use a GoPro 2 and my phone Samsung Note 2 primarily. I also carry a camcorder sometimes (the zoom shots you see).

Amen Klauss - music to my ears when I hear "when are we going again". Glad to hear your daughter enjoys it as well. Something we'll cherish for a long time.

Thanks for posting this. I enjoyed every aspect of it. Beautiful scenery, very nice editing, music fitting, and I found both the shot choices and text comments top notch. I guess it's the dad in me, but your daughter just really made the video (and trip, I am sure) extra enjoyable. I have a 14 year old son, and cannot wait to get back out. I look forward to viewing more of your trip reports.
