Here is the whole report for the Channahon-I&M Canal Trail Hang 10-19-13
The 12' HG CF tarp is new for me. I bought it used earlier this summer, but haven't had a chance to use it in the field. I did a vid about the rigging and the tarp skins my wife made for me. I used my Crown Vic on this trip, too. For canoe travel I removed the hip belt and the pack rode very nicely in the canoe. It is very much like a small portage pack when there is no frame sheet or hip belt.
I used to live in Wheaton and knew of the I&M canal trail, but didn't get into hammocking until I moved back to Arkansas. There are so many things that I am kicking myself for not getting involved in while in Illinois. Miss it so much.
Enjoyed the read, (enjoy all of TR's, as a matter of fact) but your video was not there.
I'm having some trouble with UTOOB. I think the vid should be back up now.
As I have been visiting the parks, I am constantly surprised at the diversity and variety of what Illinois has to offer. I look forward to getting into the parks in the far southern part of the state in the months and years to come!
edit:Vid is back up as of 1:30pm today.

neat trip. Never thought of combining bikes and canoes on the same trip. Easy on a canal with a towpath... Thanks for sharing!
Free advice worth what you paid for it. ;-)
NM- We also expected some hikers, too! Then we would have had campers coming in via 3 different modes of transportation. Even though the campsite is so easily accessible, it does not appear to be overused.
