Tarp Flyzs, Can't really see how you could make a lighter, more effective and easier to use tarp tensioning device
It has already been said, but a tarp Flyz (or stinger) and a Dutch hook is my final solution. I have it on my 3 tarps. Never had them snag on anything. Oh, and the Flyz grill 'cause it's cool and functional.

Great thread!!!! Thanks
I have a LA on one end of my tarp ridge line with a tarp fly on the other. I wrap the line around a tree, pop a loop in the LA then move to the other end - around the tree and tension the line with the tarp fly. Botta boom, botta bing! I used to have one of the hooks from dutch instead of the LA but often had trouble getting the line out of the hook, especially in the rain.
I just went crazy at DutchGear.com. Stoked about the product.

I made a 112$ dutch order that should be here tommorrow. Could not decide between stingerz and flyz so i got both and of course i had to get some hooks and buckets also.
I have never set a tarp up this was but am looking forward to it.
I always used knots and like and dammit I almost got busted hammocking by my boss the other day.
The dutch hooks would have made such a faster dismantling.

I like my Dutch bling and things.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the strength to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
I have been using Tarp Flyz, whoopie hooks and am ordering a few Stingerz for an alternate tarp connection. I would like to use Figure 9 cabiner on hammock suspension It would be simple with the cabiner attached to mule tape and 7/16 Spectra around the loop tie out. But, I was wondering if anyone has tried the Singerz for hammock suspension? I realize it's not recommended for that purpose, however The hammock and I weight in just a little under 200 pounds. WHat do you think?
