    ringbuckle setup.. newbie question

    need your help on this...

Was about to buy a nylontape for a ringbuckle setup, BUT when I was standing there with 5 meters of nylontape made for strapping down transporting goods on a trailer it felt a little thin...

Will it be good enough? I dont doubt the strength of it since it would hold for about 500 Kilos.

Looks like this... yeah its blue

and no, I will but use the hooks or the other "thingy" dont know what its called in english.. or, the hook could be used...
price about 4 us$ for 5 meter nylontape with a mounted hook

We also call those things "hook thingies". It should work fine, but 5 meter seems short. Also check to see if it is tubular or single layer. If it is tubular, you have very very strong webbing, but there are lighter options.

the tape is one-layer and the setup I was thinking about is to buy 2 sets of these so I will have 5 meters on each end of the hammock, but that might still be to short you think?

Darn, will check if I can find nylontape thats sold in ordered length..

5 meters ~= 15' For one end that would seem certainly suffcient to me. That means two straps for the whole ring buckle rig. What would concern me is the nylon, if indeed the strap is nylon. Nylon stretches much more than polypro or polyester. I would suggest making sure the strap really is nylon. 500kg ~= 1100 lbs if my conversion figure is correct. That would seem strong enuf. The real question for me is the stretch.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

WhatRev said. I thought you were trying to split the 5 meters in two. 10 meters sould be fine.

I was just looking for some gear to buy on the web and I found that Blackhawk has triglides, could these replace buckelrings?
