I have a Shang Ra La 3 and 5 skin. I think of it as a tarp but it is a shelter. Sorry I should have been more specific.

I have a couple of Ponchos the Hennessy's XL and a very old 1970's military issue. I have been lugging the military poncho around since the 70's. The Hennessy I purchased the same time I bought the typhoon. The Hennessy Rain Poncho is very large. HH rain poncho is too large for me, however it makes a great tarp.

I have one and I like it. I have used it on a couple of trips and my son has used it as well. With those doors on either end you can reall lock it down tight. What do you have for a hammock? It is not as long as other tarps so coverage could be an issue. I have no plans of selling or repalceing mine. The first trip I took with it ended up being cold and very windy. I pitched it down tight and could hardly feel the wind.

My hammock is a HH Expedition. Hope it covers it. According to HH website it should fit.

The Monsoon is made for the Expedition size hammock.
I think it is a pretty decent tarp, small but with good weather protection from above and the side with the doors closed. It is not cavernous like a Superfly or other winter tarp as has been already mentioned, the sides not super tall so in blowing or extreme rain I add an UQP.

Here's a photo with my WB Blackbird well hidden under the Monsoon.
