Fair enough, I was out there yesteday speaking with one of the ladies, and I thought she said all Vets get their fees waived. She was talking to someone else in for info, maybe I heard wrong, or it's a "local" rule.

I've hung at in the Hawthorn area before and had a great time. Sites are far enough apart neighbors aren't too close but close enough you can still see them. Also far enough from the parking lot you don't have to listen to everyone start their car as they come and go but close enough its not too far to carry stuff if you don't have a backpack. I got a pretty nice site in the trees but right on the water. Also if you want better hiking trails, in my opinion, you could drive over to the Johnson branch (I think) for the day. Wish I was off this weekend.

Yeah I was out at Erwin yesterday doing a quick gear test, and slacking off work. I think Erwin would work, but I am going to book a site for 2 nights Jan 24th and 25th at Ray Roberts, and hang at Hawthorn.

Please Join me if you can.

Had a great day out at Ray Roberts with the kids, I am going to book a specific spot in the Hawthorn section of Isle Du Bois. Going to book a Group Site number 27, great trees, great view of the lake, and as far away from the Parking lot as possible.

    Ray Roberts Lake State Park
    Isle du Bois
    Hawthorn "primitive" section
    Group Camping Site # 27

If you need directions, let me know.
