    Thumbs up Forums Are a'growin

Wow the forums membership has really put on a growth spurt.

For the longest time "TeeDee" was on the first page of the T's listing.

Then I noticed the past week or so that I had started creeping down that first page. Looked just now to find this thread and I've "graduated" to the top of the second page !?!?!?!?

Just my personal growth measurement for the forums.

What is the growth rate of the forums??

Does this mean that Hammock camping is getting a lot more popular??

I agree that the forum is growing steadily. I watch the new user registrations (keeping an eye out for a pattern I've noticed with Spam-Bots), and there never seems to be fewer than 7 or 8 new members per day and sometimes more.

I don't have any registration statistics prepared, though.

Didn't Grizz pull some kind of Perl magic to grab that info for some thread sometime in the past year?

That was back in '07 I think. This is probably the thread you mean.

Yep, that was the thread I was thinking of, even though it never really addressed the topic of number of new users per day, just average number of posts.

Pretty cool, Sam. Now what are all those new members doing? They sure aren't posting. It sure has been quiet lately. Good weather and more opportunities to be outside in our hammocks keeps the posting down, I guess.

If they are like me, soaking up new info. I am about to head out for a few days to watch my oldest son graduate high school, but when I am back from that, I plan on making my first homemade hammock, and taking a few weekends to try it out. For now, I am just scouring and trying to glean as much info as possible before I put the needle to my material.

I am a new member and a long time ground dweller.

Just learning about using hammocks in general, advantages, disadvantages, and costs involved.

Generally I don't post in a new forum until I have something useful to contribute, and since I never have ascended, I don't - lol.
