    Hangin' in The Big D

Hey, I'm Lee. I use to hammock camp a lot when I was younger, but got away from it somehow. I have recently been looking for a good camping alternative to a tent for my motorcycle travels and using a hammock popped to mind, I did an internet search and Shug's videos came to the top...well after watching everything on Youtube that Shug posted and a little more research I grabbed a Hennessy Safari. Tried it last weekend and I don't know why I ever stopped using one to camp. I'm looking forward to many more hangs and many more conversations on Hammock Forums.

Welcome to the forum from Oklahoma. The Shug videos were a great place to start. I learned a lot for them myself.

Thanks Bec! I'm glad I found Shug's videos too, just a wealth of good information on minimalist camping/hiking and an entertaining guy to boot.

Welcome from Alabama, Lee. What kind of hammock did you used to have?

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not sure of the brand, I think I found it at Sears if I remember right. It was green, blue and light blue striped and had about 9 or 10 small nylon ropes that was braided into the main suspension rope. I bought it sometime around 1980 or 81.
