Same as Owl stated - I look at it as a 3 part adjustment:
    1) lift legs and get your feet/foot end right
    2) arch back off hammock and adjust middle section
    3) sit up and get the top part situated
    Good exercise prior to sleep:>)
In my HH bottom entry I can lay the SB out well enough to make minor adjustments only. Just takes a little practice.

    +1

Shoulders were often cold w/ the mummy bag, not enough material to really wrap them when using it as a quilt.

Received a top quilt for Christmas, love it!

Take a length of cord, affix it to each corner of the bag, loop it over the ridgeline and tie it, or better yet, tie it to a prusik knot on the ridgeline so you can adjust it. The pic is show with a mummy bag liner, but should work for other bags:

One issue I had is if I didn't zip the bag all the way it would unzip as I rolled around in the hammock and I'd wake up with the bag balled up around my feet :\

I'm cheap so I just have a Walmart mummy bag. I ended up zipping it up about 1/3 - 1/4 of the way. Then I took my sewing kit (look out!) and popped a few stitches behind the zipper preventing it from unzipping all the way.

So when I hop in the hammock it's fairly easy to find this 'pocket' and get my feet in. Since I've done that I never zip up the bag any more and instead simply use it as a top quilt along with my KAQ on the bottom.

I will try all these ways, I'm sure it will get easier each time I get in the hammock. I'm just new to this hammock thing and I really want it to work. My under quilt will be in hopefully by this weekend so I will put the hammock up in my screened porch and try everything out. Maybe I can post some test pics.

Feet first works best for me.

Unless there's M&Ms in the bottom.

I've tried several technique's but it's never easy. I have found that a rectangle bag is much easier than a mummy bag.

I have a new Big Agnes sleep system. The Fish Hawk 30 does not have down in the bottom of the bag, just a sleeve for a sleeping pad. Not sure I will be able to make that work as a TQ. I am trying to sell it and the BA pad but not sure where I can advertise it since I don't have 50 posts yet to post it here. Any ideas?

This. Works great, and you don't get you're sleeping bag dirty on the ground.

This is indeed the best way to do it! I was going to say the exact same thing. Leaving it mostly zipped up works best.
