I might be able to make this, but won't know until the very last minute -----------is there a cut off date where you absolutely have to know how many people are going to be there? (any restrictions on the number of people ?) Sounds like a great time!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

Did I read that there is a trail and/or a hike planned from the hang to the Whitney Gap Shelter off the AT?

I was asking around about it. Couple of years ago I hiked down to Whitley Gap shelter and noticed a trail heading out south from the shelter. Didn't take it at that time and asked about it later. Was told it goes to Adams Bald, and I understand that its a relatively easy "no-trail" hike to Ravens Cliffs Falls if you follow the topography down. Should be relatively clear in late March.
I was actually thinking of hanging at Wolf Laurel Top 1 night and then hiking down to meet up with everyone via that "no-trail", but right now its not looking good for that weekend.
