The hiking dog and I went to White Oak Lake State Park one weekend and made our own kind of loop out of the 3 trails they have. I've hiked all of them before in their entirety. For those who don't know the lake was drained in 2012 to work on the dam. I went in June of 2012 and took tons of picutres of the drained lake. Went again in 2013 in April which was hiking dog's first overnight and the lake was about half filled at that time. This time around the lake was pretty much filled. As with most state parks the trails are in great condition though I would say the park staff seems to be riding around on ATVs quite a lot on the trail as tracks are everywhere and I even saw them come by the primitive campground though they didn't stop. This was not the case in the previous times I've went so I'm wondering if they are patrolling looking for people hunting or some other activity.
