this is how i do my tarp ridge.i can easily get it as tight as if using a figure 9.in fact this works the same basic way.allmost as easy

Are your nacrabiner and Solomon Bar knot made from the same kind of rope?
How many half knots did you use in your Solomon Bar knot?

    *****UPDATE******
THIS ENDED UP TWISTING MY WHOOPIE AND ONCE LOADED WAS VERY HARD TO MOVE. IT PUT ME ON MY BUTT BECAUSE I WASN'T CAREFUL... I changed so that my nacra replaces the toggle for the marlin spike hitch and then connected the whoopie secured in the nacra! But now my marlin spike hitch holds the nacra in place

Or you could make the nacra and have the whoopie threaded through before you put on the stopper knot. This would work ok

I can pull harder using the Prussics and toggle than I can with the Figure 9.

With the Figure 9, I have to grasp the cord in my hand and since I use 1.75 mm Lash-It, it digs into my hand as soon as I exert force. Pull too hard and it gets painful. Feels like trying to cut off one or more fingers with the Lash-It.

With the Prussics and toggle, I use the toggle as a handle and can exert a lot more force without any pain.

I regularly use 1.75 mm Lash-It Prussics on 1.75 mm Lash-It no problem.

So I have always just used the 1.75 mm Lash-It for the Solomon Bar, even on the 1.75 mm Lash-It that I use for my Bridge Hammock ridge line.

There really isn't much force on the Solomon Bar. It is just keeping the loop closed when there isn't any load. When there is a load, the load itself keeps the loop closed.

How many knots? Depends on how long the loop is and how many I feel like tying. I don't think I have used more than maybe 6. Just enough to get a nice, neat Solomon Bar.

It slides nicely. Sometimes I need to push firmly initially to get a slide started and then just continuous, firm pressure. The initial firm pressure is only needed if the Solomon Bar has been in place for a long time and the Samthane coating on the Lash-It starts sticking good to the Samthane coating on the loop cord.

I like it. The Solomon Bar stays in place well and looks really neat.

I call the Solomon Bar sliders "Scarabs", since they look like little beetles sitting on the cord.

Made a couple of nacrabiners today and attached to various and sundry. Making them went well, still having some difficulty with the lanyard knot. What length of line are folks starting with? I've started at 16" and may go even longer , maybe 20"?

24" to end up with an 8" loop shackle.
