    Argon Shiny side...

I read on here that argon should have the shiny side in. I'm almost ready to make a top quilt and like the look of the shiny. Would it matter if I put shiny side out?

Yes. Shiny side is the calendared side. It'll be more prone to down leakage if sewn in-side out.

I was under the impression that calendaring makes it downproof from either side and DWR is usually what has a specific side benefit.

I do not have experiential knowledge, but logic says that if a fabric is down proof, then it's down proof either way. Like a water bottle keeps water from getting out as well as prevents other things from getting in. It's sealed.

Calendaring flattens and fuses fibers on one side of the fabric. The quill of a piece of down or stowaway feather would be less likely to penetrate such a surface than one still dimpled -- a depression on the un-calendared side could actually turn and guide the quill though the fabric, it seems to me.

He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one." (Luke 22:36 ESV)

While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:3 ESV)
